A Rocha: Five Loaves—1st & 3rd Saturdays of each month
Come join A Rocha and other members of the Christian community for one hour or more, 9:00 AM-2:00 PM, on the first or third Saturday of each month to help raise food for those in need within our community and steward God's creation together. Volunteer opportunities include planting, soil preparation, weeding and irrigation work. Located at 1001 Cieneguitas Rd the farm entrance is at the end of Calle Caridad. Invisible Santa Barbara—June 26th, 2010
Saturday June 26th from 9am-5pm we will be taking a one day local mission trip to our own city! Join us as we learn about the needs right in our backyard, and what we can do to be Salt and Light in Santa Barbara. Sign-up by emailing Laurie (laurie@oceanhills.org).
Unity Shoppe—April 4th & May 1st, 2010
The Unity Shoppe is the recipient of the KCOY Spring Food Drive, now in full swing through May 7th!
Saturday April 24th and May 1st are designated Super Saturdays, when KCOY film crews will visit the grocery stores where volunteers are stationed handing out "Unity shopping lists" to encourage the public to purchase a few extra items to donate for their low-income neighbors.
The Unity Shoppe needs 6-8 people at each of 6 local stores. Email Elvira (elvira@unityshoppe.org) with your availability for a 2-hr shift sometime between 10am and 3pm on one of those Saturdays. She will follow-up your reply with the store location.
